CORONAVIRUS UPDATE 3/16/20
As all of us are aware, there is a growing public health risk surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus). We are in uncharted territory and are making every effort to maintain the health and safety of you and our staff while following the recommendations of the CDC and state and local health departments.
The CDC guidance has recommended that all mass gatherings greater than 50 people be cancelled for the next 8 weeks, however this “recommendation does not apply to the day to day operation of organizations such as schools, institutes of higher learning, or businesses. This recommendation is made in an attempt to reduce introduction of the virus into new communities and to slow the spread of infection in communities already affected by the virus.”
Based on recommendations to promote social distancing and limit the number of people gathering in one space, Coastal Climbing will be cancelling all programs, classes, and events for the foreseeable future. Coastal Climbing will otherwise continue to operate our normal schedule, with your safety and wellness as our priority.
We have increased our level of sanitization as well as posted signage reminding guests to:
wash your hands before and after climbing,
use the provided supplies to maintain a clean space and most importantly,
do not to come to Coastal Climbing if feeling ill or unwell
Additionally, at this time we will also be asking guests to keep visits to under 2 hours in order to keep gym density well under 40 individuals. We are assessing the situation hour to hour and this guidance may change in the coming days.
We understand that some individuals may want to freeze their memberships given the current climate. If you would like to do this, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
These are uncertain times for all of us. Together, we will get through this.
Thank you for your continued support,
Kensie and Jeanna Whitfield
& the Coastal Climbing Staff
